Frequently Asked Questions
How to enjoy our matcha and non-matcha products?
Different people enjoy different levels of boldness. Our go-to ratio is the 4-40-120 ratio:
- 4g matcha whisked in
- 40g water at 65–75°C, then
- Poured onto 120g iced oatmilk
Temperature matters. The right amount of heat releases umami notes without burning the matcha into astringency. The chocolate notes of Honmei shines best at 70 degrees Celsius while Yugen could play around 70 to 85 degrees—lower temp releases more sweet umami, while higher temp releases more savory umami.
Genmaicha and gyokuro follow the same 4-40-120 ratio. Hojicha uses a 5-50-100 ratio instead.
Our favorite recipes? Coconut cloud latte and banana pudding matcha latte—they add flavor without overpowering the matcha. We'd love to hear yours too!
How to properly store matcha?
Matcha is refined and sensitive to light, air, and moisture. Store in a cool, dark place—preferably in your refrigerator.
Exposure to air oxidizes matcha, while light and heat make it dull and less flavorful. Keep the container sealed and away from warm environments.
